Except for those who don't like sci fi or don't really play 40k :P . I know we will be losing Broseph, and Sepulcrum to this one though. Can't blame anyone who does switch. But I'll still be in wow till something more appealing for me comes along. WOOF! |

its not really that it is sci-fi. Its more that it has the richest lore and history, and expansive universe ive ever seen. And it doesnt matter if you play 40k or not. It looks really good. Where there is weakness, you will find my blades |

Either way. I'm personally so so on the lore. It's rich if you are big on mostly military and the sci-fi aspect. The game is definitely drool worthy. I'm just not huge on it. I will probably check it out. But star wars has a better chance of stealing me than 40k does. It looks awesome. I just think as far as the WoW killer factor it has a smaller fan base of people who like MMO's. I dont know if WoW has a bigger fan base than 40k does in general, but not everyone who likes 40k will necessarily like MMO's. So I don't think it will be a WoW killer, just some good competition. I honestly don't think at this point much will kill WoW until it destroys itself. When that will be who knows. But they will definitely lose some subscriptions to this one. WOOF! |

Okay, so I was maybe over zealous when I said "WoW-Killer". I do realize it won't be one single game that brings WoW to its knees. It will more than likely be this next gen of MMO coming out, which 40k is part of. Either way, I know I'm seriously looking forward to purging some Xeno scrum in the name of the Emperor. I agree with ya. It looks fantastic. If anything I hope WoW by that time has rather done a full reboot or a reboot on the system that allows us to take our characters with it. Levels are just numbers but looking at the video for 40K a huge graphics update would be nice. Sadly I play to play with my friends and a larger chunk wont be playing KOTOR or 40k. So with WoW I stay for now. WOOF! |

Part of me wants to be interested in Kotor. Then part of me remembers SWG and cringe. Yes I know its Bioware and I lived in Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter nights... they are probably my favorite game studio. But can they undo the wounds that SWG inflicted on the star wars community?? seriously not sure on that. I think I would be more interested if I didn't get the feeling its going to be crowded with fanbois waving their lightsabers all over the place. Warhammer looks good but there was the other Warhammer MMO from Mythic and while I loved Dark Age the execution of Warhammer there sucked. If enough people are going to give it a try and we can get a guild going there to try it out I will probably give it a chance. |

Bioware makes good games. I have faith that Old Republic will be incredible. As for the 40k MMO, its being developed by THQ, not Mythic (Thank god!) so it should be pretty good actually. Warhammer Age of Reckoning should not be compared to the 40k MMO. Two COMPLETELY different companies. Star Wars will definitely steal my attention. And on another note, most of what Nate and alot of other people see of 40k is the wargame. And its a wargame, so yeah.. its military and war. But if you go past that and research the lore and any of the 400 books made, there is so much more to look at. Its like judging the Warcraft universe on the Mount Hijal Battle. i can't wait for Star Wars. Sony eff'd up the original SWG. Im glad Bioware has taken it over, it needs a good producer. Yes, but Vigil is owned by THQ brother. In the name of the Emperor! Also, nice to see so many loyalists here. I never felt the taint of the Warp or Xeno amongst this host. Real Paladins have the [Charger] Feat of Strength Fact: No plate kilt will ever look as good as T2. |
